The M.O.C.A. certification In Mulmix

Let’s delve a little deeper into the topic of M.O.C.A.

After UNI EN ISO 9001:2015, EN 1090-1:2009+A1:2011, UNI EN ISO 14001:2015, Mulmix successfully adds a further quality procedure relating to the management of the M.O.CA regulation.

This certification aims to guarantee compliance with certain mandatory requirements regarding food hygiene and the related control of M.O.C.A. is aimed at ensuring that they do not transfer components and do not contaminate the food products with which they come into contact.

Following European regulations, the term food quality or product quality takes on an increasingly important meaning and this is also based on the possibility of knowing and verifying the entire production process: cultivation, production, transformation, distribution, marketing, consumption.

To this process we would also add “conservation”, a link that is always missing when we talk about food quality in the supply chain, but which is fundamental for us if we consider that the cereal, before moving from the field to processing and to the consumer, passes through storage in the inside silos, where it can remain for months.

To reach the finish line, Mulmix has introduced a series of operating methods into its supply chain so that the production process relating to the products, falling under Regulation 1935/2004 – M.O.C.A. , takes place under controlled conditions.

A system of good manufacturing practices (GMP) has therefore been established in accordance with legal requirements, a quality assurance system (SAQ) and a quality control system (SCQ) which guarantees a level of release of contaminating elements. to the product within the maximum limits established by national and European law and which cannot lead to an unacceptable change in the composition of food products or constitute a danger to human health.

To achieve this purpose, Mulmix has created a contamination risk design and assessment system, performed tests on materials in contact with food, defined the surfaces in direct contact with the product, defined the methodologies to guarantee the traceability of materials and processing, defined the duration of conservation of the GMP attestation documents, trained the staff, established the labeling and drafting methods of the declarations of conformity, communicated its activities to the competent bodies and, finally, established emergency response methods.

It was a long and demanding process but it will allow Mulmix to offer its customers healthy and certified products.

Mulmix has had a material traceability system in place since the 2000s and, thanks to this internal control and identification system, also for M.O.C.A. it is possible to guarantee total traceability.

The products are made in compliance with Regulation (EC) 1935/2004 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 October 2004 regarding materials and objects intended to come into contact with food products and the release tests were carried out according to the European Metals guide and alloys used in food contact materials and articles (EDQM/COE) – ICP-OES / ICP-MS.?

We can consider ourselves very satisfied with this further important milestone which leads us to be not only a company attentive to the problems of the sector and ready to take on new challenges for continuous improvement, but also the only company in Italy to offer certified food silos in galvanized steel.
