Silos CI

The 45°and 60° metal hopper silos model CI are used in mills, in feed mills and in storage plants where the complete emptying of silos is necessary but it should be performed without the aid of mechanical conveyors or operators.
They can be even used to store products with difficult flowing since the hopper facilitates it.
The discharge cone is made of Z600 galvanized sheet.
CI silos are available in many versions, from 120 to 2400 m2.
By the way other sizes can be easily required. The silo is designed in compliance with EUROCODE EN-1991-4 standards.

ROOF

The roof is 30° inclined and is composed of hot-galvanized trapezoidal sheets with Z600 coating; thanks to reinforcement bars it can burden snow loads in addition to the loads generated by the conveyors and catwalks.

CYLINDER

The cylinder is composed of corrugated metal panels (called sheets) in S350 GD structural steel (UNI EN10346) with Z600 galvanized coating (equivalent to 600g/m2 of zinc) which guarantees a long lasting weather resistance. The thickness of each sheet is determined by taking into consideration the stress derived from earthquakes, wind, snow in addition to the model itself and its place of installation. Wide silos and silos placed in windy areas are reinforced with windproof rings. The assembly of the sheets is performerd with high mechanical resistance bolts with electronic zinc plating (14 µm) and treated with a passivation process against corrosion. The taw washers used, moreover, are certified in compliance with the food regulations. The joints between the sheets are sealed with a cord.

UNLOADING

The unloading hopper placed inside the silo is 45° or 60° inclined and it is composed of galvanized modular elements bolted together with high resistance screws with rounded head to ease the flowing of products.
An internal ventilation cone can be inserted in the hopper.
The internal metal hopper, thanks to a hooking system patented by Mulmix, can be adjusted at different heights from level zero, this allows to add machines such as conveyors, dosers or scales.

UPRIGHTS

The cylinder is externally reinforced with columns of S350GD structural steel uprights (UNI EN10346) with omega section.
The thickness of the uprights is designed by taking into consideration the model of the silos itself and the design standards used (laws, place of installation, loads, seism, wind and snow).
